IPL 2026 Squads: All 10 Teams, Full Player Lists, Captains & Coaches
The IPL 2026 mini-auction wrapped up on December 16, 2025 in Abu Dhabi, and all 10 squads are now locked and loaded for the season starting March 28. A total of 173 players were retained ahead of the auction, and 77 more were added across all franchises bringing the combined squad count to a full 250 players spread across the 10 teams.

The trades, the record signings, and the surprise releases have already changed the competitive balance of this tournament. Cameron Green went for ₹25.20 crore to become the most expensive overseas player in IPL history. Two uncapped Indian players fetched ₹14.20 crore each. And RCB, the defending champions, kept their core completely intact.

Mumbai Indians (MI) Squad 2026
MI came into the auction with the smallest remaining purse of any team just ₹2.75 crore after retaining 20 players. That tight budget forced them to be smart, and they used it well. Quinton de Kock came in for ₹1 crore as a specialist wicketkeeper option, giving Hardik Pandya a settled batting lineup that already includes Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Jasprit Bumrah.
The squad lost Sherfane Rutherford (traded to GT) and Shardul Thakur (traded to LSG), but what remains is still one of the most star-studded rosters in the tournament.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Squad 2026
Defending champions. That phrase alone tells you everything about where RCB’s head is going into 2026. They kept 17 of their title-winning squad and came into the auction with ₹16.40 crore. Coach Andy Flower has a settled group — Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Rajat Patidar (now captain), Tim David, Josh Hazlewood, and Jacob Bethell all return.
The only concern heading in was the Yash Dayal fitness question — he has not played since the IPL 2025 final. RCB spent the majority of their auction purse securing a backup pace option.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Squad 2026
The most dramatic squad rebuild of IPL 2026 belongs to KKR without question. They came into auction with the highest remaining purse — ₹64.30 crore — and used it aggressively. Cameron Green at ₹25.20 crore, Matheesha Pathirana at ₹18 crore, and several other additions transformed this side from a disappointing 2025 campaign into a squad with serious title credentials again.
Notable omissions from last year include Andre Russell, Shreyas Iyer, Quinton de Kock, and Phil Salt — all released or moved on. Ajinkya Rahane takes over as captain, working alongside coach Chandrakant Pandit to rebuild KKR’s identity.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Squad 2026
SRH lost Mohammed Shami to LSG via trade and released a number of fringe players, but the core that makes them dangerous Pat Cummins, Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Travis Head remains intact. Daniel Vettori continues as coach, keeping the tactical edge that made SRH one of the highest-scoring teams in IPL history during the 2024 season.

Key strength: Perhaps the most explosive top order in the tournament with Abhishek, Head, and Klaasen. Cummins as captain and key pace weapon is a combination that very few teams can match.
Delhi Capitals (DC) Squad 2026
DC’s squad looks different after some significant departures. Fraser-McGurk and Faf du Plessis were both released, leaving DC thin at the top order. Axar Patel takes on the captaincy for the second year, with Ricky Ponting pushing him to make DC a genuine playoff threat. Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav remain the standout weapons.
The auction helped — Kyle Jamieson came in as DC’s last signing of the day, adding significant depth to a bowling attack that needed another genuine option alongside Starc.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) Squad 2026
PBKS went into the auction with the most players retained — 21 — a deliberate choice by the franchise to build stability after years of squad overhauls. Shreyas Iyer captains a squad packed with domestic talent, pace depth, and a strong overseas core headlined by Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, and Yuzvendra Chahal. Marcus Stoinis adds the middle-order firepower and the bowling backup that Trevor Bayliss has been looking for since taking over.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) Squad 2026
RR’s squad has undergone a fascinating transformation. Riyan Parag takes on the captaincy, making him one of the youngest IPL captains in recent memory. The two biggest additions are through trade — Ravindra Jadeja from CSK and Sam Curran from CSK, with Donovan Ferreira arriving from DC. Kumar Sangakkara’s influence as director of cricket is visible in every squad decision Rajasthan makes.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and Jofra Archer give RR one of the most exciting combinations of youth and international class in the competition.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Squad 2026
LSG came into 2026 with a point to prove. After two playoff finishes in 2022-23 and back-to-back disappointments in 2024-25, the franchise restructured meaningfully. Rishabh Pant continues as captain. Mohammed Shami arrived from SRH via trade, immediately becoming LSG’s most experienced new-ball bowler. Anrich Nortje, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Josh Inglis were added at auction to fill genuine gaps.
Kane Williamson has joined as a strategic advisor, working alongside head coach Justin Langer.

Gujarat Titans (GT) Squad 2026
GT remain one of the most composed and strategically sound teams in the tournament. Shubman Gill leads a squad that has Rashid Khan as its centrepiece, with Sai Sudharsan (the IPL 2025 highest run-scorer with 759 runs) giving them match-winning batting depth. Washington Sundar, Jos Buttler was released but replaced smartly, and Jason Holder adds versatile bowling depth.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Squad 2026
Ruturaj Gaikwad leads CSK into what might be their most interesting season in years. The biggest pre-auction story was the Sanju Samson trade — CSK sent Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan Royals and received Samson in return, adding a genuine match-winner at the top of the order alongside Gaikwad. With ₹43.40 crore heading into auction, CSK also landed two of the most explosive uncapped players in this cycle — Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma, both at ₹14.20 crore each.
MS Dhoni remains in the squad as a finisher and mentor, and his presence alone changes the atmosphere in the dressing room and at Chepauk.
